Working out how to reduce your carbon footprint can be daunting, but Carbon Savvy's new Carbon Savers Course simplifies the key facts in ten 'bite-size' sessions. Sustainable South Hams has 50 FREE subscriptions for community groups that have added their group to our Sustainability Map or Parish Councils which have updated their Parish information.

Places on the course are allocated on a first-come-first served basis - please contact louise@sussh.org to request one. This has been funded by South Hams District Council's Climate and Biodiversity Emergency Committee.

The Carbon Savers Bite-Size Course offers an amazing set of resources for sustainability group leaders looking to learn more and develop their groups’ work.

In one parish, the community group Bigbury Net Zero is using the course material as the backbone of the Bigbury Carbon Savers Club, which will be running once a month at the Memorial Hall in St Ann's Chapel. Come along to get some ideas for your own group. See their poster here.

We are very grateful to Mukti Mitchell, founder of Carbon Savvy, for responding to our call and curating this amazing suite of communication tools. Beginning in October, it offers a light touch, easily understood series of monthly topics over a ten-month period – you can preview a course summary here. Each session includes a 15-minute video with accompanying materials, and an online forum will be available for questions and discussion.

Course fees pay for access for the full ten-month programme and to an online platform for group leaders to pose Mukti the difficult questions on the monthly topics. Leaders who sign up on behalf of their group will be able to download the course materials, using them as many times as they want.

Individuals are able to purchase the course for £99 and South Hams ward councillors are being offered ten login codes to allocate to their parishes for a total cost of £500 for the whole course.

We hope this offers the chance to make a huge difference to our collective ambition to reduce the South Hams’s carbon footprint. Please get in touch with us if you have any questions.
