June may feel far away in this chilly weather, but now is a great time to start planning your activities for Great Big Green Week. Get some inspiration from other local events and get ahead of the game!
Great Big Green Week, which will take place 10th-18th June 2023, is the UK’s biggest celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature. There are plenty of options that your community group could look at, from the small and simple to the exciting and extravagant!
You could organise a letter-writing event as part of the Letters to Tomorrow Project, download some of the beautiful GBGW illustration posters to display around your local area or share this short film on social media.
There are also some great projects that have already happened in the South Hams that you could draw inspiration from. If you’re looking to create a great community event, perhaps you might want to follow in the footsteps of South Brent’s Climate & Nature Fair (contact jane@sussh.org for further info) or run your own Planet Local event to showcase local sustainable businesses.
