It's summer and that means nature field trips are on offer.
We have a full day of guided tours coming up in Loddiswell - firstly at Wave Hill Farm where we'll be shown regenerative farming and no-dig techniques to help sequester carbon, and at Deer Wood Trust where we'll see a certified tree nursery of very local native species. We also get a chance to talk to Sky Williams who has just started a regenerative no-dig market garden on a farm sharing scheme, and also Liz Montague, founder of Wild About Loddiswell to chat about how to set up a nature group.
Ambios Ltd who are tenant farmers at Sharpham Estate will be hosting a tour to show us their rewilding site and how they farm with wildlife in mind. We'll also be visiting the Apricot Centre near Dartington with a tour led by author, farmers and founder Marina O'Connell to see how the benefits of regenerative farming and biodymanic techniques have revived a farm with depleted soil.
