At Tallet Meadow Farm, a gentle sloping cattle pasture is being turned into a farm supplying products to the local community. A variety of habitats are being created and managed to increase the biodiversity, and over 1200 trees, native & commercial have been planted. In addition, two hedges have been reinstated, five ponds created, a wildflower meadow has been established and the project includes keeping bees.
Supply for sale fresh apples all year with SW varieties. Establish which varieties are successful in our environment. Trial which varieties remain fresh in air controlled storage. Manage hedges for products and wildlife. Investigate hazel, willow, walnut cob nut and sweet chestnut as commercial crops. Organic hay from our developing wildflower meadows.
Work with the land & weather. Living on site would make everything easier and more efficient.
