Our Community Compost focus is well on the way, with lots of opportunities for those of you wanting to get going with community composting projects.

We have two events coming up over the next few months - 'Repurposing Brown Bins: Train the Trainer' and a 'Community Composting Masterclass'. These courses have limited spaces and we are keen to ensure that this knowledge gets spread across the South Hams. Attendees should be willing and able to use the course to educate/develop projects in their own community, and we would like to have representatives from a variety of parishes and towns.

At 'Repurposing Brown Bins: Train the Trainer', we will be demonstrating the best methods for repurposing redundant brown bins into wormeries, rainwater butts and compost bins. Attendees will leave the course with the knowledge and equipment necessary to convert brown bins in their own communities. The course is set to run on the 4th May and 6th June - make sure to choose your preferred date when booking here.

Our Community Composting Masterclass will be led over a weekend by experts Nicky Scott and Ben Bryant, offering a deep dive for all those interested in developing a community composting site. Booking is now open here (please note that some details including specific timings may be subject to change).

We also have Community Composting Fact Sheets which will be published in April, a Home Composting Roadshow, an upcoming Home Composting Demo Site in South Brent and possible opportunities around Neighbourhood Food Waste Compost Clubs. Find out more about all of these here and express your interest in this form.
