The South Hams is jam packed with businesses looking to operate in a sustainable way for communities and the environment. Two local businesses are making big changes, with Harbertonford’s village shop coming into community ownership and zero waste shop Green & Wild searching for new owners, and Devon company Planet & People may be of interest to those of you hoping to make your own business more sustainable.
We’ve been busy adding some new mentors to our Find Support page and would love to hear from you if you can offer mentoring, speaking, training or consulting to groups and organisations in the South Hams.
July saw the usual SusSH Group Leaders’ Gathering replaced with a special workshop on Starting & Developing Your Community Group. Attendees at the event, held in South Brent, were able to hear from expert speakers on the ‘nuts and bolts’ topics of getting groups going and moving onwards and upwards.
Engaging residents and visitors to conserve, enhance, and and value the South Devon National Landscape. Projects include Farming in Protected Landscapes, Access for All, biodiversity projects in the estuaries, coast, and landscape including Life on the Edge - restoring coastal species-rich grasslands for endangered invertebrates.
