Sharpham Trust in partnership with Ambios Ltd celebrate planting 3,000 trees

This winter marked a major milestone for The Sharpham Trust and Ambios as nearly 3,000 trees were planted as part of the Plymouth and South Devon Community Forest project across 10 hectares of land, supported by the energy and dedication of hundreds of volunteers, trainees, and local community members.

A Guide to Repurposing Brown Bins

In 2023, many brown wheelie bins in South Hams became redundant due to the garden waste collection by South Hams District Council (SHDC) becoming chargeable. We have worked with SHDC to explore the potential for repurposing, upcycling, and reusing the bins to save resources.

Sustainable Staverton

We are a community group set up by the parish council following Staverton Parish Council’s declaration of a climate emergency in 2019. We aim to share knowledge and ideas to help protect and restore biodiversity, and to work towards eliminating our carbon emissions. Our projects are focused around Biodiversity, Home Energy, Travel, and Food & Farming.

Sustainable Littlehempston

Sustainable Littlehempston is a working group set up by the Parish Council to help improve biodiversity and tackle the climate crisis. Projects include: Tree planting and biodiversity in the parish, improving energy efficiency in parishioners homes, improving the walking and cycling connection to Totnes, helping parishioners grow and share food and reduce food waste.
